The funding is paid directly to the pre-school provider by the County Council and you are entitled to use your 15 hours in more than one setting. The table below shows which term your child will become eligible for funding in according to their birthday:
Child born between: 15 hours funding available from:
1st April - 31st August The start of the Autumn term following their third birthday until statutory school age.
1st September - 31st December The start of the Spring term following their third birthday until statutory school age.

Eligible three and four year olds are entitled to a maximum of 570 hours Free Early Education per year which can be taken in a pattern of up to 15 hours per week for 38 weeks. This can be taken over a minimum of 2 days with no session being shorter than 2.5 hours per day or longer than 10 hours per day. Currently our sessions run from 2.5 hours to a maximum of 5.5 hours per day.
30 Hours Funding Eligibility (Extended Hours)
To get the additional hours you will need to sign up online to get an eligibility code . You'll also need to reconfirm your eligibility every 3months. You must apply for your 30 hours eligibility code in the term before your child becomes eligible by age. The government has recommended application periods. If you do not apply within these recommended periods, you may not get your code in time. If you do not apply for and receive your code before the deadline date you will not be able to take up your place until the term after. For more information visit Kent County Councils website
